Important notice and declaration
Breast milk is best for babies. Professional advice should be followed before using an infant formula. Introducing partial bottle feeding could negatively affect breast feeding. Good maternal nutrition is important for breast feeding and reversing a decision not to breast feed may be difficult. Infant formula should always be used as directed. Proper use of an infant formula is important to the health of the infant. Social and financial implications should be considered when selecting a method of feeding.

Aptamil® Gold+ Preterm from birth
Ready to Feed

A nutritionally complete, commercially sterile ready to feed infant formula suitable for premature or low birth weight infants from birth requiring a partial or complete breast milk substitute.

Features and Benefits

A nutritionally complete, commercially sterile ready to feed infant formula suitable for premature or low birth weight infants from birth requiring a partial or complete breast milk substitute. Designed to promote growth at intrauterine rates without disrupting metabolic homeostasis. The protein, vitamin and mineral concentrations are higher than in standard formula to allow for the smaller intake and increased nutritional requirement of premature infants.

  1. May help to nutritionally support the immune system

Contains Nutricia’s patented blend of prebiotic oligosaccharides (90% GOS+, 10% lc Polyfructose++), 0.8g per 100mL. This blend, in a concentration of 1g/100mL has been shown with preterm infants to:

    • Increase levels of beneficial bacteria similar to those found in preterm breast fed infants.1
    • Significantly reduce the presence of clinically relevant pathogens in faecal flora which may indicate the capacity of Nutricia’s prebiotics to protect against infections.
  2. Easy digestion/tolerance
    • May help to bring stool consistency and frequency closer to that of breast fed infants and stimulate the growth of bifidobacteria.1
    • May help to shorten transit time.3
    • Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) for easier digestion.4
  3. Nutritionally complete for preterm infants
    • Complies with the 2010 ESPGHAN^ guidelines to meet the specific nutritional requirements of preterm infants 1kg or over. 5
    • Omega 3 DHA (fish oil) and omega 6 AA †† LCPs# to help support brain and eye development.6, 7
  4. Benefits of the Aptamil® unique Optipack packaging
    • Improved infection control as it is a closed feeding system which reduces handling as there is no need to decant.
    • Saves nursing times and costs vs standard glass/decanting system.
    • Safer and easier to handle as it is a lightweight, glass-free system.
    • Recyclable packaging.8
